You’ll want to have your service team perform an inspection of all of the areas under the hood of your vehicle. I’ll be honest, I hardly ever take a peek under my hood. This is especially true during winter because I want to spend as little time outside as possible. However, I do like to do a visual inspection every once in a while. I mostly look for cracks or corrosion on any of the engine parts. If you want to do a visual inspection, you should check a few different areas. The first thing you’ll want to check is the battery. Look to see if the battery terminals have any corrosion on them. This happens to most batteries over time. You can clean this off with some baking soda and a small brush. If you recheck it and find the corrosion is back, you may have a more significant issue with the battery. Check your oil levels, and if they are low, you should schedule an oil change. While you’re at it, you should check your coolant to make sure that you have plenty and that it’s in good condition.
At John Eagle Honda, you can take your vehicle to their service department to have them to a wellness check to ensure that it’s in good health. We’ll be back with one more article in this series with two more tips that can help you get your vehicle ready for the summer months.
